From time to time, our summer or winter schools welcome these students arriving to Brno from all around the world—sometimes even from as far as Australia, the U.S., or Canada. And it’s always a special moment when we realize they have Czech roots. 🇨🇿 Maybe their grandparents spoke Czech at home. Maybe they’ve always been curious about where their family comes from. Or maybe they just love exploring new cultures. I’m thrilled to share that I recently completed a three-week exchange program at Masaryk University Summer and Winter Schools in Brno, where I took a course on international law and human rights. This journey was not just about academics but also about hands-on learning and exposure to real-world institutions. As part of the program, I had the incredible opportunity to visit the United Nations in Vienna, the Hungarian Parliament, and the Helsinki Committee in Budapest, where I gained firsthand insights into international law in practice. In Prague, I visited several NGOs, learning about their critical work in promoting human rights and legal advocacy. Yesterday, I received my official transcript with an A grade and 8 ECTS credits, marking the successful completion of this journey. I’m truly grateful for the outstanding professors, the amazing peers I had the privilege to learn alongside, and the invaluable insights from experts in the field. Thank you to Masaryk University Summer and Winter Schools for this amazing opportunity!
